David is a local artist who works with locally salvaged trees cut into hefty vertical slabs. His pieces leverage the natural forms and features of the tree rather than impose an artificial geometry. His Mecklenburg studio is housed in an old chicken barn, where drying slabs of cherry, maple, and walnut now roost instead.

Scott and his family live a back-to-basics life on their electricity-free homestead in Brooktondale. His commitment to mindful living and intimacy with nature shows through in each vase, bowl, and cup. Many of Scott's pieces are fired in his self-built wood-fired kiln.
